Steady Progress Against Methamphetamine
Strike Force Report Card Shows Fewer Local Meth Labs, and More Treatment Available for Drug Users

What:

The Methamphetamine Strike Force presents its annual Status Report and Report Card to the Board of Supervisors. Last year, fewer drug labs were seized in San Diego County, and more people are seeking treatment for methamphetamine problems. The county’s capacity to provide substance abuse treatment is expanding. And fewer arrestees are testing positive for methamphetamine. County officials will explain the significance of the statistics.

Why:
San Diego County’s Methamphetamine Strike Force is making
modest but important progress in addressing problems caused by the drug. But meth is still available across Southern California, and the Strike Force will continue campaigns that are impacting the meth problem, expanding those campaigns here, and supporting similar efforts in neighboring counties.
