Johnson Ave, El Cajon Who: 23 women in recovery learn self-esteem and teamwork, by staging a fundraising fashion show. The women are all recovering substance abusers, at the KIVA Women and Childrens Learning Center in Lemon Grove. Three months ago, as part of an Image Empowerment Class, they decided to organize a fashion show. Since then, theyve been working with Sylvia Rundles, CEO of Vazi Amali. Rundles says This is one of the most challenging and rewarding shows Ive ever done. The models are ready for the challenge; theyve learned teamwork, sharing, and how to focus on a common goal. |
