Club Drugs Present in 50 Deaths in San Diego County; Community Says: "The Party is Over"


What:

Law enforcement, public health officials, and community representatives join efforts to combat Club Drugs. Highlight the dangers associated with these so-called “Love” and “Fun” drugs. Announce strategies to deal with this growing problem.

Why:
Club Drugs are becoming the nation’s and San Diego County’s newest high.
People think these so-called “Fun” or “Love ” drugs are harmless. They are wrong.
Club Drugs produce a range of harmful effects, including death.
Emergency room doctors report a rise in Club Drug overdoses.
In the last two years, 50 people in San Diego County had Club Drugs –GHB, Ketamine, Rohypnol, LSD, Ecstasy, and the prescription drug Carisoprodol–in their bodies at the time of death.
