"TRAFFIC" Arrives in San Diego
Experts Available to Discuss Regionís Latest Drug Trend and Culture

SAN DIEGO, CA – On Friday, audiences from across San Diego County will get a chance to see the movie “Traffic,” a realistic version of the region’s drug culture, filmed primarily in San Diego and Tijuana locations.

The movie’s focus is the war on drugs and its efforts to reduce their supply. And while the director, Steven Sodebergh, tries to show the various points of view in dealing with the drug problem, it is very clear he believes that the way to win the war is not to reduce the supply but the demand for drugs.

Prevention and treatment specialists, public health experts and law enforcement in San Diego are addressing the region’s drug problem, focusing their efforts in prevention, intervention, treatment and interdiction.

The following individuals are available to discuss San Diego’s current drug culture, the latest trends, such as club drugs, and what is being done to solve the problem. They can also provide access to individuals in recovery and public service announcements dealing with the issue.
