East
County Teens Launch "Operation Stop 'N Bust"
Ask Local Liquor Stores to Display Posters to Stop Adults from Providing
Alcohol to Minors and Law Enforcement to Bust Those Who Provide
What:
East County students canvas local liquor stores in Santee and El Cajon,
urging owners to post posters warning adults that is against the law to
furnish alcohol to a minor. Youth will also ask local authorities to cite
and prosecute adult providers. This marks the Southern California kick-off
of the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control shoulder tap enforcement
campaign.
Led by Communities Against Substance Abuse, in partnership with the Santee
and El Cajon substance abuse prevention teams, the students will visit several
businesses in both cities in an effort to reduce youth access to alcohol
and underage drinking.
