North County Doctors Train to Spot Meth-Exposed Kids


What:
Officials from the County's Meth Strike Force and Drug Endangered Children's Program will teach North County medical providers how to identify and care for children exposed to methamphetamine.

Why:
208 children have been removed from meth environments since 1998.
90 percent of lab seizures take place in San Diego's North County.
Meth is most prolific illicit drug problem in San Diego's North County.
Children were removed from half the labs seized by the county in 1998.

Friday, May 12, 2000, 9:30 AM to 11 AM

Tri-City Hospital, Assembly Rooms B-C

Details:
Pictures of sites available. Interviews with DEC team available after medical training. Training will last approximately one hour.
